Ongoing - Weekly "Show and Go" Road Group Rides
Why bike alone when you can ride with like-minded road enthusiasts? Meet at Earth Rider and we'll decide the direction, distance and pace depending on who shows up. All abilities welcome and no one will be dropped, but a road bike is recommended. We will not ride if it is raining or snowing or there is ice or snow on the ground.

Sat., July 4, 2009 - Fourth of July in Brodhead
Come to Brodhead to celebrate Independence Day. Extra activities are planned this year to coincide with the 125th anniversary of the Brodhead Fire Department. In between a bike ride on the trail or on the quiet backroads you can enjoy some of the activities planned:
- July 4th parade at noon down 1st Center Ave.
- Equipment display including a rollover simulator, ladder truck and a helicopter landing.
- Chicken barbecue at Veterans Memorial Park and foodstand at the fire station.
- Water fights at the fire station.
- Fireworks display at dusk.
- Coon Creek String Band performs in a free concert featuring old time, Bluegrass, and western swing on July 5th in Veterans Memorial Park, 6:30pm - 8:00 pm.
Sat., Jul 11, 2009 - Pedal for Paws
Support the Green County Humane Society while exploring the backroads in Green County around New Glarus with choice of 2 challenging routes with hills of 30 miles, a moderate route of 15 miles or a 12 mile ride on the trail. Start at the Sugar River Trail head in New Glarus, 418 Railroad Street. between 7:00 am and 10:00 am. Helmets required. Cost: before July 1, 2009, $25 for individuals; $50 for families. Sat., Jul 18, 2009 - Get the Most from your Digital Camera
Have more fun with your digital camera with this introductory photography class. Class includes 1/2 day with Ray Schoeller, a professional photographer and owner, of
Ray's Custom Photography, who will take you on a shooting field trip and help you understand your camera's settings. Composition and photo software recommendations will also be discussed. This class will inspire you to takes lots of beautiful pictures! Package includes instruction, box lunch, $20 dinner gift certificate, overnight accomodations at Earth Rider, and breakfast the next morning. Scheduled for July 18 (other dates available upon request). Minimum 6 students. Cost: $180 per person. Go to the

Sat., Jul 25, 2009 - Amish Quilt Auction
Take a tour of the old world at the annual Amish Quilt Auction. Besides a huge auction of hundreds of handmade quilts bid on Amish made furniture, collectables, and even horse implements. Bake sale and hand made ice cream made with a diesel engine featured. Bicycle there and back with pickup of your purchases by the Earth Rider van. Time: 8:00am; Pace 12-14 mph; Distance: 24 miles; Route: Moderate. Co-sponsored by the Bombay Bicycle Club.
Sat. Jul 25 2009 - Just TRI Youth Triathlon
All kids get ready to swim, run, and bike and experinece the sport of triathlon. Sponsored by Green County Family YMCA, 1307 2nd St., Monroe, WI 608-325-2003. Registration fee: $30. Time: 7:00 am.
Sun., Aug. 16 2009 - Heaven on Earth - A Visit to the Angel Museum
We'll bike to Beloit and tour the world's largest angel museum housed in a historic building with thousands of angels from The Berg Angel Collection and The Black Angel Collection donated by Oprah Winfrey. Admission fee. Visit

Sat., Oct 3, 2009 - Tour de Cheese
Bike to cheese factories in Green County with fully supported routes of 15-60 miles. Event starts in Monroe, Wisconsin and ends in downtown Monroe at Minhas Craft Brewery. Ride benefits Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Green County and Monroe Main Street. Cost $35 before Sept. 20, $40 afterwards and onsite.

Sat., Oct 10., 2009 - Trek Women Breast Cancer Awareness Ride
Raise awareness and funds for breast cancer prevention, screening, and treatment by joining forces with women and men of all ages and abilities to ride on the same day at the same time, all over the country. Fee: $25 - 100% of registration fees will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
