Get more out of cycling by joining one of the Earth Rider rides, classes, or informative presentations. All events are held at or start at Earth Rider, 929 W. Exchange St., Brodhead, and are open to everyone and free of charge, unless noted otherwise. Call, email, or stop in for further information.

Why bike alone when you can ride with like-minded road enthusiasts? Meet at Earth Rider and we'll decide the direction, distance and pace depending on who shows up. All abilities welcome and no one will be dropped, but a road bike is recommended.

Sat. May 10 - Tour the Farms
Ride to five farms where there will be tours that provide a glimpse of how families make a living off the land. It's a world away from the city! Farm tours are free and open to the public. Time: 10:00 am; Pace: 10-12 mph; Distance: 41 miles; Route: North loop to first three farms: 19 miles, moderately flat; South loop to Emu farm: 21 miles, hilly (recommended for experienced road cyclists).   • Start: Downtown Brodhead Tinkers Garden - Exchange St. and W 3rd Ave - Two dimensinal plywood cows decorated by Brodhead businesses will be on display. Vote for the Earth Rider cow (you'll know which one it is!)

Sat., May 17, 2007 - Bike-4-Habitat for Humanity
Ride the roads or trails and raise money for Habitat for Humanity of Green County. Fully supported ride of 15-30-50-100 miles complete with route map and on road markings, aid station, food and beverages along the route, lunch served after the ride, and tee shirt for paid rider starts in Brodhead. Sun., May 25, 2008 - Go West, Young Cyclist
Peaceful roads and beautiful scenery abound from Brodhead to Monroe, the county seat of Green County and site of the historic Green County Courthouse where we take a brake to explore the downtown square. An optional longer loop continues on quiet backroad to the picturesque town of Argyle. Time: 9:00 am; Pace: 14-16 mph; Distance: 36 miles or 80 miles; Route: Moderately Hilly. Sun Jun 29, 2008 - Tour of Rock County Parks
Visiting parks while on a bike ride is always a good idea to take a quick break and nod to others out to enjoy the great outdoors. We'll visit three parks, Magnolia Bluff, Gibbs Lake, and Beckman Mill. Time: 10:00 am; Pace: 14-16 mph; Distance: 75-miles; Route: Moderately Hilly.

Fri. Jul 18, 2008 - Once in a Blue Moon on the Trail
Experience a full moon with a leisurely ride on the Sugar River Trail and Badger Trails to the spooky Stewart Tunnel. If you've never ridden the trail in a full moon, it is totally awesome. Before the ride we will fortify ourselves with a bottle of Blumers blue moon soda created locally in Monroe, Wisconsin. Lights recommended.. Time: 6:30 pm; Pace: 10-12 mph; Distance 44 miles. For a shorter ride meet at the Monticello Trail Head at Cty EE along east edge of the village; 8:00 pm; Distance 10 miles. Sat., Jul 26, 2008 - Amish Quilt Auction
Take a tour of the old world at the annual Amish Quilt Auction. Besides a huge auction of hundreds of handmade quilts bid on Amish made furniture, collectables, and even horse implements. Bake sale and hand made ice cream made with a diesel engine featured. Bicycle there and back with pickup of your purchases by the Earth Rider van. Time: 8:00am; Pace 12-14 mph; Distance: 24 miles; Route: Moderate. Co-sponsored by the Bombay Bicycle Club.

Sat. Jul 26 2008 - Just TRI Youth Triathlon
All kids get ready to swim, run, and bike and experinece the sport of triathlon. Sponsored by Green County Family YMCA, 1307 2nd St., Monroe, WI 608-325-2003. Registration fee: $30. Time: 7:00 am.

Sun., Aug. 10, 2008- Heaven on Earth - A Visit to the Angel Museum
We'll bike to Beloit and tour the world's largest angel museum housed in a historic building with thousands of angels from The Berg Angel Collection and The Black Angel Collection donated by Oprah Winfrey. Decatur Dairy is one of the stops
Sat., Aug 30, 2008- Pride of Dairyland
Where there are cows there has to be ice cream and cheese. This ride chugs down quiet country roads to Orfordville and then to visit an ice creamery. After an appropriate visit, the ride heads to a dairy to pick up cheese curds, then to an ice cream stand for another snack before returning to Brodhead. Time: 9:00 am; Pace: 14-16 mph; Distance: 32 miles; Route: Moderately Hilly. Co-sponsored by the Bombay Bicycle Club.



Sat., Sept 27, 2008 - Bike the Barns
Tour southern Wisconsin's countryside, while having fun connecting to great food and Madision Area Community Supported Agriculture Coalition (MACSAC) farms raising funds for the Partner Shares Program and awareness of local, sustainable agriculture. Last year this event sold out. so be sure to register early. Scotch Hill Farm in Brodhead. will be a rest stop and the location of lunch. Visit MACSAC for more information and to register.
