Earth Rider Supports Human Powered Vehicle Team
Earth Rider was a sponsor of the Marquette University Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) team that took 3rd place out of 40 teams in a competition held at the Univ of Wisconsin-Madison April 25-27, 2008.
HPVs are aerodynamic, highly engineered vehicles used on land, in the water or the air. Some land-based HPV's have achieved speeds of over 60 mph. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers sponsors the
Human Powered Vehicle Competition
in hopes of finding a design that can be used for everyday activities ranging from commuting to work to going to the grocery store. Senior engineering students use this competition for their capstone project to design and construct a fast, sleek, and safe vehicle capable of road use. Congratulations to the Marquette team!
