Our Next Featured Event: Bike-4-Habitat
Ride the roads or trails and raise money for Habitat for Humanity of Green County. Fully supported ride of 15-30-50-100 miles complete with route map and on road markings, aid station, food and beverages along the route, lunch served after the ride, and tee shirt for paid rider starts in Brodhead. Earth Rider Supports Human Powered Vehicle Team
Earth Rider is a proud sponsor of the Marquette University Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) team that took 3rd place out of 40 teams in a competition held at the Univ of Wisconsin-Madison April 25-27, 2008.
HPVs are aerodynamic, highly engineered vehicles that may be for use on land, in the water or the air. Some land-based HPV's have achieved speeds of over 60 mph. American Society of Mechanical Engineers sponsors the
Human Powered Vehicle Competition
in hopes of finding a design that can be used for everyday activities ranging from commuting to and from work to going to the grocery store. Senior engineering students use this competition for their capstone project and with their efforts design and construct a fast, sleek, and safe vehicle capable of road use. Congratulations to the Marquette Univ. team!
