This stage was a team time trial. The teams would prefer to ride last so they know the time they need to beat, but they were schedule in reverse order of team general classification. Team Jumbo-Visma was the last to race, was clocked at 35 mile per hour and won by 20 seconds so there was no change in the overall classification. Ten years ago there might have been differences in equipment used by the teams, but today they all have the latest tech.
